Tsubasa: Fai by smbavalon Tsubasa: Fai by smbavalon
A photo of myself and the staff I just finished. It took me a total of 5 hours to complete.

Process:

1) First, I had to come up with a stencil for the staff's top and bottom. I did this twice (the first stencil wasn't stable enough once I cut it out). Then I traced the pattern onto foam board and cut it out using a knife.

2) After everything was cut out, I covered the large blue crystal piece in Crayola Model Magic to give it more of a crystal shape. I then painted that, along with various sizes of acryllic gems with a mixture of two different metallic acryllic paints. While these were drying, I had my dad spray paint the foam board.

3) Once everything was dry, I used Superglue to attach the gems to the foam board. The big crystal is attached using invisible thread. The main part of the staff is made of pvc pipe that was spray painted gold. The foam board pieces are wedged into the pvc piping and are secured with some clear heavy-duty tape. The staff is about 8 feet tall.

I look short in this photo... but I'm actually about 5'8" and one of the taller girls in my grade...

Coat is hand-sewn by me. Staff is also made by me. The wig was styled by me.

Photo credit goes to my mom.

Fai belongs to CLAMP.

Thanks! That means so much to me! The staff is a little shaky in places, but I think that's due to how tall it is.
